Last month news came out stating that there will be 2 iPads produced this year. One in March and one in October. However I'm not finding any updates on this. Is the October release just supposed to be smaller.

I currently have love my first gen and I'm looking to upgade next month but I might wait until October if it's going to be significantly better.

it has never happened before, so i doubt it. we got the same rumors last year with the ipad 2 shortly after it came out. i wouldn't bet on apple doing that.

While there have been rumors of an 8" iPad, nobody really knows. You haven't upgraded to iPad 2 which tells me that you are OK with the speed/memory. iPad 3 will be a huge upgrade for you, and even if there is a new iPad in October, it can only be an incremental CPU upgrade, since the iPad 3 will have the Retina display, great camera, etc, etc.

Of course I take it all back if the March release turns out to be an iPad 2S with just some minor updates

We had this exact same rumour last year, and it was totally true. iPad 2 in the spring, iPad 3 in the autumn. It's just that the autumn iPad 3 turned out to be smaller than everyone expected, and called iPhone 4S.

I bet it'll be called the iPhone 5 this year.

They won't release 2 ipads in a year. We had this rumour last year and nothing came of it.

The ipad will be like the iphone where we have it updated once a year.
