iPad iPad 4th gen screen repair

Hey guys, my friends girl tripped and dropped her iPad 4th gen today (what a day..) and the glass has smashed, the lcd seems fine though so I said I would order a replacement digitiser and install it.

Have a couple of questions though, it landed on a corner so there is a small dent in the aluminium, the glass wont sit flush because of that so I am thinking about trying to knock the dent back out slightly. I have looked at a few tear downs but I am unsure if the home button can be detached from the digitiser ? on ifixit it looks like its part of the digitiser

The iPad 3 and iPad 4 use the exact same digitizer, so you should be able to remove the home button and put it in the new one if your replacement digitizer does not come with a home button.
