A abstern macrumors member Nov 1, 2012 #2 From the cnet review of the 4th gen iPad "The 12W adapter offers up slightly faster charging. The third-gen iPad was notoriously slow to charge, and so far I've seen the new iPad make greater progress over an hour's top-off plug-in. It's not superfast, but it's better." http://reviews.cnet.com/tablets/apple-ipad-4th-generation/4505-3126_7-35440704-2.html

The battery is the same size. The charger that it comes with can supply 20% more juice. Expect very marginal improvement.
