Make sure you open yours at the store! The displays are not aligned for several of them. I had to open 3 devices to get one seated evenly in the chassis.

Basically the Panel and the bezel have a larger gap on one side vs the other, in my case, 2 mm vs completely flush, one was actually crooked..

Outside of that, I"m loving this new model :)

I did see this on reddit as well which is why I thought it was prudent to check while at the store.

Is it a huge issue? Or just OCD? Someone else (not very tech savvy) is buying my iPad and I'm worried now.

One thread based off some defective iPads would not be considered a "Huge issue." You have to remember, Apple manufactures millions of iPads and there will be defects when you have mass produce products. I would not be concerned with it and if you were, just make sure you inspect it.

I received a couple of misaligned iPad (2017) units as well, both of them 32GB gold. The bezel is white so any gaps are quite noticeable.

First unit: Skewed clockwise. Very distracting.
The first one I bought was skewed clockwise by a few degrees: 2mm gap in the top left corner and 0mm on the top right corner. The bottom left corner had 0mm and the bottom right corner had 2mm.

Second unit: Display was evenly shifted to the right. Could live with it.
Top and bottom left edges had a 2mm gap. The right edges had 0mm.

Third unit: Relatively even gap on all four edges.
I kept this unit and returned the first two.

Store display unit: Relatively even gap on all four edges. Within my expectation.
Gap at top was slightly more than the bottom, but not enough to be distracting.

Edit::: below is not accurate, it was how the video was playing in the NHL app. Tested with Netflix and other apps with dark screens. I'm all good, phew!

Well, turns out the one I have has a two or three pixel white line that extends the bottom of my screen, definitely noticeable when watching a letterboxes video at any brightness.

I've owned every single iPad released and I've never seen this issue on any of them or any other apple product.

Mine is like the bottom, noticeable when watching video in the dark, which is often. It's not OCD or nitpicking.. this is apple we're talking about.

    A quiet place in NY.
We had a miss aligned screen on our first Black one. I just put some electrical tape on the edge. Works fine. :apple:

Thanks god I found this topic, I own an iPad 2017 128GB and the other day I was using on in my lap, and it fallen down to a very fluffy carpet, on the right side and with a bold case, so there wasn't any kind of hard fall that can virtually damage the iPad, when I checked the display to see if there was any kind of damage, I noticed the screen moved and disaligned a little bit so I freaked out and when I calmed myself a little, I just gave the iPad a few little bumps with the palm on my hand to the opposite side that the screen moved and it went back to the position, I don't know what's happening with the 2017 iPad but I think this is a big issue, looks like the inner screen below the digitalizer glass isn't attached or glued well and that causes the dissalignment of the screens. Maybe with little bumps the screen dissalignes itself, but that it's not supposed to happen. I don't know what to do, I was thinking about taking my iPad to the store and ask for another one, but if all the 2017 iPads have the same issue, i think it'll be useless.
