I currently have IOS 12.1.4

Anyone with this model IPAD have any issues after updating to IOS 12.2? If so, should I wait for 12.3?

Nothing is simple anymore.

No issues at all, runs smooth as silk and my original iPad Air is also on the latest firmware and no issues there either. Typing this on a 6th Gen running iOS 12.2 which I purchased new from Amazon for $229.
