iPad iPad 7 and Pencil 2nd Gen

I have an iPad 7 and would like to get a Pencil.
According to the Compatibility list on Apple‘s website, I Need to geht a Pencil 1st Gen. But the iPad has magnets on the left side which I thought was for the Pencil 2nd Gen.
Anyone using the 2nd Gen Pencil with the iPad 7? And if so, what Are the drawbacks?

Hi John.
Only the 1st gen pencil will work with your iPad 7.
The gold dots on the left side are a connector for the Smart Keyboard and not for the pencil I’m afraid.
As such, there is nobody out there who is using the 2nd gen pencil with an iPad 7.

sorry can't help you with that. I actually bought the Apple Pencil 1st gen and it's working just fine.

Hi. I was close buying Adonit Note+ but due to not that big price difference which would justify the purchase, eventually I've ordered Apple pencil.
I don't know do you write or sketch more but how often do you replace tip?

I haven‘t used it much and haven‘t changed the tip yet.
Was hoping to fiddle around with it over Christmas.

Well if I am not wrong language isn't the feature of the pencil, it's the feature of the app that you are using.
Pencil will write whatever you want to.
