iPad iPad Air 12.4.5 not showing via BT on 4.2 devices

Hi all,

my iPad Air with Bluetooth 4.0 running iOS 12.4.5 doesn't show up on devices having Bluetooth 4.2 (iPad Pro, iPhone).
But it is seen by devices with 4.0 (iMac).

Is this to be expected because of compatibility?

Thanks for helping here. I've already tried all of the solutions from this link, without any luck.

All troubleshooting I'm finding is about bad, not working or losing connections.
Can't find anything about why the device is not even showing up on newer bluetooth.
