Air 2 would be my choice. The iPad Pro 9.7 is only 19% faster than Air 2. Also, the Only real other major advantages with the Pro is the quad speakers and Tru-Tone display.

I personally am waiting for the March Keynote with the iPad refresh to see what it has to offer.

I have 2 Air 2s and a 9.7 Pro. I vote Pro all day, every day. The display is incredible. Everything else is too blue.

Why would you be screwed? Lowest I've seen Pro 9.7 is around $500. That's $200 savings and in 2 years, you could probably buy whatever iPad was released after the Pro 9.7 with your $200 savings + a bit extra cash.

I think if you dont plan on getting the Apple Pencil for the Pro then you should go with the Air, but I'd just wait till March and see what happens there with the new iPad's and hopefully that will make your decision a little easier. The speakers and true tone on the Pro are amazing, but the only real big difference is the Apple Pencil

I just went with the Apple Pro 9.x and got the pencil the only thing ill wait for march is the imac and mac pro to see what ill get

And the Mac Mini as well.
[doublepost=1482149879][/doublepost]Just purchased the Air 2 over the pro. Saved $200 with Air 2. The added features of the pro didn't impress me enough to spring for an extra $200. Both are excellent at what they do. But both will probably be obsolete or worn out in 3 years anyway, so I would rather save $200 now and see what the future holds.

I have both and the Pro is the better device. It's worth it when you can get it on sale like Best Buy has it right now, $125 off.

Reason why I'd get it over the Air 2
-It doesn't have the sound vibration issue
-The quad speakers alone are worth it
-I FaceTime a lot and the Air 2 cameras suck compared to the Pro
-More compatible features like the Pencil work with it.

Does anyone know how long the sale at Best Buy will be running? Just this week?

I'll chime in here as I had the same question, but only after I bought an Air 2. Having not used my "old" iPads much in the past, I hadn't thought of updgrading at all. However, I was at a series of offsite trainings where my laptop was used for the presentations - leaving me laptop-less for a majority of the day. Having a tablet handy during this time would've been nice as I could've kept up with my email and other tasks. So, that got me to searching and I found a decent deal on an Air 2. My last iPad was an original mini, so I had missed a few upgrades since then. The Air 2 was awesome - I loaded it up with the apps that were compatible to my laptop programs (Office, FileBrowser, VPN client, Skype for Biz, Remote Desktop client, etc.) and I was off and running.

I take a lot of handwritten notes and wanted to continue that practice with the iPad. I picked up an Andonit Pixel stylus and loaded up GoodNotes and Notability and had a working facsimile of taking notes on paper. It wasn't perfect, but it worked well. I was pretty happy.

Then, I tried out the Pencil and a Pro and wow; just WOW. For how well the Air 2/Pixel works, the Pro/Pencil combo is miles beyond. That was the selling point for me and the Air 2 was sold to help fund the updgrade to the 9.7 Pro. Additionally, the screen and quad speakers really make the move from the Air 2 to the Pro feel like an upgrade. To me, it was worth it. With the Smart Keyboard and the Logitech CREATE thrown into the mix, I've got as close to a laptop replacement as I've gotten to over the years. I find myself using the Pro way more then I've used any of my previous iPads.

So, I vote for the 9.7 Pro.

So how do people feel now we have the new low end iPad? I'm not sure which one to get the new. IPad or the Air 2... The pro is overkill for mr needs.
