Thanks, i am planning to buy iPad Mini 4, i dont think so there will be new iPad on the keynote
Last question, i am a streamer, meaning all movies/music/documents will be on NAS, which storage, should i take
16 or 64 gb?

16 gb isnt viable?

It's on the lower end of usable. If you install only a few apps, if you don't store any pictures or videos on your iPad, if, like you say, you never store any documents on your iPad, then it's doable.

But the thing is, today, you might think you'd always just stream videos, but a year from now, you might decide to go on a trip, and want to take some videos with you on the iPad. If you have a 16gb, there isn't going to be much space to store videos. So having larger storage gives you more flexibility down the line.

Do yourself the favor and get a 64GB, you will thank yourself in the long run. I had a iPad 4 16GB, the 1st 12months were great, but as I installed more apps, tried games and productivity tools the storage quickly became full, that's why I went for an Air 2 64GB this time.

Yes i know but i am a pure streamer, not a single movies/songs/doc on internal storage
It might be an issue for apps/games at long run (i am not an heavy gamer either)

16 GB is actually about 12 GB of storage that you actually have access to. I would advise against the 16 GB model for all but the most casual iPad users. I don't store much on my iPad other than some photos and documents and just a few short videos, but I'm currently using about 25 GB. I don't even have any games more complex than chess installed.

Need some confirmation
I was turning my decision in favor of iPad Air 2
Then i realize how heavy it could be
I have a terrible Asus hybrid lapop 10'1, the tablet is really thick and outdated, it weight freaking heavy, i could not longer hold in one hand over few minutes
I would say it should weight around 1 kilogram
Then i checked dimensions/weight on Google, i was surprised it only weight 550 gr only which is only 100 gr more than iPad Air 2
Whole mensurations are pretty similar despite of huge difference of thickness
260mmx170mm
I mostly use tablet when i am lying down on the couch/bed
Do you think iPad Air 2 is too heavy/big for being comfortable when you want to use it from one hand only?

I never even try to use it one handed. I use the Smart Cover to prop it up.
If holding with one hand is a must for you, 9.7 tablets are too big for that. You can only hold them one handed for short periods of time.

Yes but according some, iPad Air 2 is better tablet for home usage
I dont use tablet instead of computer, there is laptop/macbook for that
It sounds like i should pick Mini 4 since the beginning
Ipad Air 2 weight only 430 gr but i still think its too heavy to handle on one hand only
I only have SE, 4 inches, Mini 4 seems to be the perfect comprise between my iPhone and my laptop (13.3)

If you're buying an iPad to mainly use while your away from home, I'd definitely get the mini if I was you. I'd get the mini if I was me, so I did. I bring my iPad mini 4 with me when I go out and use my iPad Air 2 at home. This works out perfectly for me.

If you are lying down on the couch/bed, what the best size to pick?

I'd say 9.7", but some might argue 12.9".

Heh. I really enjoy using my 12.9 in couch/bed. But unlike some other things (cough), I'd say for this purpose size doesn't matter. I've used all three sizes in couch/bed, and they all work fine. Oh, but if you have a sleeping partner, please don't drop the 12.9 on their face. :p

If you're just sitting on the couch or lying in bed, the 12.9" iPad would be great for the bigger screen. But as I tend to walk around with it a lot and hold it up occasionally, I can't deal with the bigger size and heavier weight.

The Mini is light as a feather and perfect sized screen for gaming and reading (kindle, news). I would get the Air if you watch movies a lot however. The Pro 12.9 is a niche for artists/photographers.

Why iPad Air 2 should be better for watching movies?
Pixel density is better on Mini 4
I bought on purpose my Z3 tablet which has similar size because smaller screen size and pixel density make easier for to watch movies
e.g when i watch video on my iPhone SE, video look sharper than on tablet just because there is pixel density and distance between screen and eyes

That would be my main usage, how look movies on Mini 4 in comparison of iPad Air 2?

I think most people prefer larger images, and they don't really notice the additional pixel density. But if you can tell the difference and prefer increased pixel density over larger image, then sure, the mini may be better for you. Unfortunately, I can't help, because to me, the llarger image size of the Air trumps any diffference in image sharpness between the Air2 and mini4.

Sorry for the confusing, i mean there is correlation between pixel density, screen size and distance
Lets take an example

a 55'' TV, 1080p and 4K, if you stay from same distance, 4k TV would look sharper
Now different size TV, 40'' and 55'', if it has same resolution, you need to get closer with smaller tv size
Sure the pixel density isnt an issue on iPad Air 2 (i would expect that), but from what i ve seen and tested on physical store, iPad Mini 4 is way lighter and much more portable, so i expect the distance between iPad Mini 4 and you is actually closer than iPad Air 2
Virtually image would look same because you ll get closer
Air 2 you can do same thing but according on this topic, its heavier and may get uncomfortable after long period of use

Same reason people prefer watching movies on a 60" 1080p TV than on their QHD phones.

Well, it's been a while since I had a mini (I gave it to my mom), but I don't think I held it any closer than my 9.7 iPads. But who knows, you may hold iPads differently than I do.

I really think you are overthinking it with the screen resolution. Just get the size that feels good to you to hold. Any screen difference is secondary.
