If you are going to keep the Mini 2 as well, you eventually will favor either it or the Air 2 and the other will not be used much.

Not necessarily. I owned the original mini and the iPad 3, and I eventually settled in to a pattern where I used both about the equal amount of time. iPad 3 was for at home use, and the mini was for on the go. So it might not be common, but it can happen.

[QU that the OTE=AppleRobert;20191205]I got the retina Mini on Sunday for $299. The iPad Air 2 no matter how thin and light still isn't as portable or easy to hold.

So for $200 cheaper, winner winner chicken dinner! The screen resolution/ppi is great and it is fast enough for what I do with it.

BTW, I can live with tabs reloading cause a page refreshes in a few seconds and not an eternity. I don't do copying or cutting and pasting into another webpage so that circumstance doesn't effect me per se.[/QUOTE]

I agree. The Air just isn't as portable. I have an air 1 (on loan to cousin) . It replaced my original mini. Whilst the upgrade in performance and screen quality is night and day it just isn't as portable or convenient to carry around on a daily basis.

When I had the original mini its only fault (barring resolution) was that the screen size was too small for watching videos at home. I thought the air would be a prefect all in one solution. However portability and convenience took a great hit. I tried the nexus 7 2013 and didn't like it at all.

At the moment I've got a galaxy tab pro 10.1 (for watching movies) and I picked up a retina mini for on the go.
