iPad Air 3

Any chance that Apple will release the iPad Air 3 in mid-November? Been hearing some rumors that they could.

Why would they do that when the iPad Pro is supposed to be launching then? If they were going to launch an iPad Air in 2015, it probably would have been along side the Mini 4.

Not to be rude - but the OP doesn't really care about his actual questions. He just throws out these questions all the time - look at his threads started...

Do we all assume that Apple will, from now on, leave the iPad Air to always trail the iPad Pro when it comes to the latest CPU/GPU etc tech?

So there will be 3 levels. iPad Pro (always get the latest and best CPU/GPU etc) iPad Air, which might get last years iPadPro tech, and the iPad Mini, which will likewise trail the iPad Air by a year.

Do we all agree this is what will happen? the Air will always deliberately be held back from approaching the performance of the Pro, as they need to keep the Pro looking and performing the best to justify it's price/position?

The worst thing they could do is just as they're releasing the Pro to distract potential buyers with a new shiny, significantly cheaper iPad. No, it'll be released next year, unless Apple really don't care how the Pro fares in terms of sales.

Plus, if it is released this year, it'll have the A9 chip inside instead of the A9X (which Apple said was designed specifically for the Pro). If they wait until next year battery tech will have improved enough along with power efficiency of the display and other components to plop a lower clocked A9X into the Air 3 without compromising on battery life.

Here's my prediction; Air 3 will get a lower clocked A9X and will be released in spring 2016.
