there’ve been a lot of stories over the past year of the 10.5 Pro’s developing white spots on the screen that have caused customers to trade in their pro’s for unaffected models. My question is does anyone suspect that the new air will develop similar problems too?

I think new 10.5” Air uses a cheaper screen of the previous Air with lamination, pencil one support and no 120 mhz refresh!

This is also a concern for me and one of the reasons I've decided not to buy a 10.5 Pro.

There are quite a few videos on YouTube about this and, judging by the comments, the problem appears to be even more widespread than I thought, and I was aware of the thread on here.

I’m waiting for the iFixit teardown to see if they've redesigned the inside of the iPad to address this issue.

The affected area appears to be where the display and several other components attach to the logic board. It’s covered by a metal plate, which you can see in step 4 -

Unfortunately, we won't know whether they've fixed the issue for a while as it usually takes months to appear.

I don’t think the iPad Air 3 will have the same problem.
