Anyone know what would cause screen to get darker on one side like this? Warranty ended two days ago 🙁 Thanks for any info!

That looks like a defect to me.

Curiously, I did a hard reset and now the affected area is smaller.

If it's only been 2 days, Apple may still replace it as a courtesy. Doesn't hurt to try.

While hard resets just force a restart the screen is still showing the issue so it’s a display problem very likely.

Thank you for the suggestion! I went to apple store and they are replacing the iPad, told me to come back in 5 days to pickup the replacement. I didn't have to plead my case or anything! Great service.
