Hello folks,

I have bought AIR 2021 ipad wifi/cellular 64G, in Sep 2021, and its production date is in May 2021. Since i bought i can see significant battery drain of about 8% per night just leaving it on standby with wifi/BT open, and stopping all background refresh.

Tried everything and tricks i could find on the internet, to the extent that once i just "erased ipad" & left it on the welcome screen 'setup your pad' and it was draining around 3% in 12 hours (where literally zero activity & connectivity)!

I want to know what is your experience in this? what is the normal standby overnight battery drainage for air 4? My previous 6 years i pad air 2 would drain 25% in 10 days over standby (but it was used for almost 6 years!) .. now my air 2021 will lose by this rate in 10 days around 80% and it is brand new!

What is your experience guys?

Note, i saw some quite much people complaining but all of them were in late 2020.. i thought in mid 2021 it should be over..

Sincerely,
MO

Mine's around 5-10% for every 24 hours standby (Air 4 256GB LTE).

The Air 4 already has the lowest battery drain among my iPads. My iPad Pro 10.5 (512GB LTE) would drain around 15-25% every 24 hours. I believe my Air 2 (128GB WiFi) has similar battery drain as the Pro 10.5. Battery's dead if I leave it unplugged on standby for 5 days.

All aforementioned iPads are running iPadOS 14.8.

how long buddy do you have this ipad?

And for the 5-10% drain over 24h standby was it since day zero you bought it?

Had the Air 4 since May. Yes, the drain has been like that since day zero.

As for my older iPads, I think iOS 12 was when standby drain got bad for me (I skipped 11). iOS 10 still gave me good standby battery. Not as good as the 1 month standby I got with iPad 3/4 + iOS 6 but on iOS 10, it could at least do 1 week standby and still have enough charge for 2-4 hours onscreen use.
