Sorry but the back of that space grey iPad is to die for, so that's what I'm going with!

White. The white borders were distracting in the beginning since I had black borders previously but the eyes adjusted.

Space gray ordered last night. All my idevices are dark. Just wish they would start offering MBP's and MBA's in an anodizing like most firearms. Silver is growing a little long in the tooth. But with the new Mac Pro being black maybe change is a comin.

While I'd like that as well, it becomes a supply chain issue if you offer more than one color. So either you ho with a safe neutral color such as black or silver so start you only have to make one version; or you have to estimate demands for colors and wind up with too much ed and not enough blue in the stores and play catchup with the supply chain. Apple's just in time supply chain model would ease the problem a bit; but look at the issues they have with multiple iPhone colors and matching demand especially at launch. With mid year updates to MBs it would also mean potentially having to unload a bunch of unsold colors which could weaken demand for new machines as well as go against Apple's history of offering few, if any, sales on older machines.

To keep with the thread - I went with black - on my Air, iPad4 and phones. I wonder if there is a gender preference for colors reflected in the sales? Most of the women I know went with white and guys with black.

For iPhone I went with silver after having had black for 3 years, ipad the other way around - that space grey is just too gorgeous. I really don't think colour is gender dependednt. Well not for me as someone who doesn't believe colour of my phone affects my manliness

I got the black iPad Air 64GB. My back payment from SSI came in and I treated myself! Love the big screen. Got a case too

Im leaning towards black. I find it more ergonomically pleasant without that white bezel shining in my face.

However, ios7 seem to be designed for white units, its all they front in ads, etc and i have to say ios7 looks better on a white iphone.

What do you guys think?

The iPhone 5c has only black on the front. I like having a white iPhone (if I could I would get gold 5s) and a black iPad.

I had an white ipad and was very pleased with it. Now i have black one and with watching movies i find it more relaxing for my eyes.
The white ipad with the black movies-bars gave more contrast which i find annoying. Now it's one black area. I prefer it.

It's simply a matter of personal opinion. Get whatever you think looks better.

But objectively, I think each has its own pros/cons.

White Pros: White matches websites, books, etc. more, and you will be viewing these much more than watching a movie with black bars.

White Cons: Being white, you can see the little black 1mm border around the screen (where nothing is displayed).

Black Pros: Black blends into the background much better when watching movies and videos.

Black Cons: There is a dramatic contrast with the black border and websites, books, etc. (all the stuff you will view much more commonly). Some people like this, but I personally hate it.

I like the new space gray more than the silver (both back, and bezels); but I personally like the white borders better for viewing, etc. It's weird because I like black on my iphone. The contrast with the black border and the screen was just too dramatic for me.

I don't think it is a Manliness issues as much as a simple preference. Fo resample, I have a friend who's father worked for a car manufacturer and could get cars at a discount. Whenever he leased a new one his dad would check sales stats to see which options, colors, etc. were most popular and had the highest resale value. For his model it was a white convertible and the buyers were overwhelmingly women. Thus, he went with a white convertible since when he sold it a year later at the end of the lease he made a few bucks on the sale.
