I'm looking to buy an iPad Air and occasionally use it as a hotspot (to share LTE over WiFi with other devices). I remember a few years ago that the iPad 3 provided the hotspot capability, but it was available only with Verizon, not with AT&T.

Does the latest iPad Air provide the hotspot capability with all carriers, or does it still only work for Verizon?

Yes and no. Yes the iPad Air can Hotspot. It depends on your carrier and plan as to you being able to do it. It will hotspot with all carriers based upon your plan.

Verizon offers this, check with ATT to see if their plans offer free hotspot, though I think they charge you a fee for this.
