Hi,

I'm a longtime iPad user, since the first generation. I upgraded to an Air 2 from the iPad 3 back in November last year. I've always felt the idle battery drain has been high, but assumed this was because I restored from the backup of my iPad 3.
Recently however I decided to do a full restore. I did nothing except setup an email account (set to poll every hour), I then charged it to 100%, and after that left it for a few days.

Weirdly, after 3 days idle it has been active for nearly 8 hours, that's 11% of the time. I've noticed this pattern. Can anyone think what's going on here?

Is Bluetooth on? Location services? High screen brightness? Just checking since these will eat away at the battery. How about setting email to fetch at a longer interval? That can help too.

Make sure privacy settings are mostly turned OFF and if you are running the latest OS, be sure that the Fitness feature is OFF since that will run in the background tracking steps and all that stuff.
