Hi,

Since a few days I have the problem that every time I connect my iPad Air M1 to my Mate View 28-inch monitor via USB-C I do not end up in Stage Manager mode, but in Mirror View. This was not the case before. I have to deactivate Mirror Mode in the settings every time. Then the Stage Manager is again on the external screen. However, YouTube videos continue to run in Mirror Mode. So, I cannot run a video on the iPad and work on the external monitor. That was possible before. In the control center, AirPlay is always active, I can't select any other Airplay destination than "Dock".

This currently happens every time I connect the iPad.
Do you have any ideas what is going wrong?

Regards Bear

Make sure the mouse and keyboard are connected before you connect to the external monitor.

At the office we work with iPads and external monitors and the co-workers having this issue are the ones that have not connected the the mouse and keyboard.

Thanks for the tip. That really seems to have been it. I had a keyboard connected to either the Mac or the iPad via a switch. If I use a dedicated keyboard and trackpad for the iPad it works.
