Picard's iPad. :)

finger print sensor

I would have bought the iPad air if it had a finger print sensor and iOS7 had a multiple user option and full syncing.

I'd love to have a few iPads laying around that log-in to your user based on your fingerprint and all the iPads have the same data that syncs.

My theory is that Apple doesn't have a lot of new ideas with the iPad roadmap so they will push that off till next year. Maybe a better camera, fingerprint sensor, faster, and different colors. When they do the color thing, then I know they hit the wall with it. I am surprised they can milk that 1 MB of RAM so well on iOS.

so true, I bought the Air 32gb, throw in what I sold my ipad 3 on ebay for, and I only paid half the price for the Air.

Same here, we, me and my girlfriend, sold our two ipad's 3 64 gig and with that we could buy 1 iPad Air and infest in the second iPad Air 64gig. That's one of the advantages with Apple products, the value remains pretty high and why not? The iPad 3 is still good machine with a still stunning Retina screen.

So, since friday we, me and my girlfriend have an iPad Air with 64 gig Wifi. We had before two iPad 3 64 Gig and boy...what an improvement.

I must state that the iPad3 is still standing tall, all aps still running fine we noticed on the iPad3 but this is very noticeable lighter and thinner and all tough the iPad3 still performs you do feel a big difference when using the iPad Air. Everything runs extremely smooth and, as said by others, extremely fast.

I assume you meant "invest"? You don't "invest" in electronics unless you feel the item you are buying will INCREASE in value. You invest in the hopes of making a profit. I think when you expect to LOSE money it's called a BAD INVESTMENT.

I get what you are saying, though. It's a safe purchase decision because as long as you keep the iPad in like-new condition, it does have a high resale value and you can get a good portion of your original sale price back. :)

resale value

i'm guessing the high resale value had to do with apple being very expensive to import into some countries where perhaps now it is a normal product (still relatively expensive but at least available without a black market). if this is true i am wondering how the resale value will play out over the next year. will apple products still hold value as well as they have?

Yeah, that's what I meant. I'm Dutch, not that familiar with English, sorry bout that ^^

I think invest is fine in this context. It's used fairly commonly in UK English.

- I'm going to invest in an iPad
- I'm going to invest in a a pair of quality walking boots
- I'm going to invest in an education

You don't get any direct monetary gain from these "investments", but they can enable gain.

- An iPad allows you to, for example, sketch ideas whilst drinking coffee - this is beneficial for a designer who may earn from their work (time is money).
- Good quality walking boots may mean you have to buy less pairs of cheap boots in the future - saving you money in the long run.
- An education will allow you to hopefully get a better job - allowing you boost earnings.

The 2nd example as a verb http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/invest

devote (one’s time, effort, or energy) to a particular undertaking with the expectation of a worthwhile result:
we have invested a considerable amount of time in demonstrating the value of the system
