DMQL here as well, perfect screen. If anything seems sharper than my iPad 4. Perfect white as well, neither cold or warm.

DMPL here and it looks perfect.

Could someone please let me know what manufacturer that is and also what the other serial numbers mean? Thanks.

How is everyone testing for backlight bleed? Are you cranking to max brightness and using a dark room, or simply viewing under normal everyday viewing conditions?

Just curious as my DMPL iPad Air is perfect other than some very small and light bleed which occurs near the volume buttons and only can really be seen at max brightness, in total darkness or when watching letter boxed video in darkness. I'm tempted to keep, but seeing everyone with perfect iPads, I just had to ask how everyone is assessing this. :)

first ipad air i got had some bad screen uniformity (left side was more yellow than the other) and more importantly the cover glass felt very flexible and uneven - overall cheap somehow. didnt check serial number, went to exchange almost immediatly.

second iPad Air is perfect (*knock on wood*) - perfect screen uniformity and cover glass feels alot more even and solid than the first air. serial # starts with DMPL.

It's unlikely the screen manufacturer is related to the serial number. You're all wasting your time.

Mine's a DMPL and the screen is perfect.

But this entire thread is utterly irrelevant unless we have proof of a connection between the serial number and screen manufacturer, which we don't to my knowledge.

DMPL...I have a small bleed also near the volume...in full brightness not visible in during movie in letterbox at the brightness levels I'm watching a film (which is below middle point). Absolute normal... Enjoy your ipad air... and ignore the psychotic "try to find problems on your ipad and win" road....

DLMP 4th try - great screen with no issues.

1st screen DLXL and 3rd screen DLMP were yellowish overall. No gradients. The 2nd screen didn't leave the store as it looked just like the first and I didn't check the serial number.

Yeah this doesn't really help, is there a place you can find out from the full serial the date and location of manufacturing, that would be more helpful.

I have seen DMPL perfect white and horrible yellow, so just the first 4 letters means zero.

I would assume the early iPads were LG screens with Samsung jumping in the fill in the need? who knows, I did see somewhere where LG was 60% and Samsung was 40% of the screens.

This thread is a pointless waste of time. There is no evidence that the serial number correlates in any way with the screen manufacturer.
