iPad iPad Airplay over Ethernet Mirroring

Hi Team

I'm keen to be able to mirror my iPad 8th gen (lightning port) to a spare 1080p monitor as a bit of a visual aid for music production. As I understand, there is no great option for being able to use HDMI (for image) and USB (for connecting to a hub/music interface device) via lightning. I have a USB-C multi-port adapter for my Macbook and I've ordered a USB-C to Lightning adapter in the foolish hope I can get that to work on my iPad but I'm not holding out on that option after reading comments on lightning port speed issues for large data transmission.

So I am considering Airplay as an option via an Apple TV plugged into my monitor. I realise that Airplay over WiFi will introduce a delay so I am wondering if I am able to reduce this by using ethernet at both ends (Apple TV and the iPad). I have successfully plugged my iPad into ethernet and the Apple TV's have ethernet ports. Is there anyone currently using such a setup? If so how does it work? Asking before I shell out for a second hand Apple TV (3rd Gen should be enough).

I use that setup and it works seamlessly. WiFi can be troublesome, so I used ethernet.

Thanks so much for confirming that - really appreciate it. So the lag is minimal over ethernet airplay? Sorry, one more question, do you by any chance use an audio interface and are able to get audio routed through it while using Airplay? I assume Airplay will initially take control of both video and audio but I'm hoping that the USB audio interface may take audio back if I plug it in after initiating the Airplay connection.
