Hey guys,
I'm going off to college soon after a much needed, but extended break from academics. I'd like to use my iPad as much as possible because of the form factor, the college relative to where I'll be living is enough to make my have second thoughts about carrying my Macbook around with me.
To keep everything in one place, I'm looking for a binder or something to store supplies and/or a text book along with the tablet. I've seen only 1 such item lately by Roots but it was upwards of 50$, and from the Vegan line none the less so it wasn't real leather. Whether a pro or a con I'm not sure, my qualm was the price tag.
On another note, I know the opinions surrounding the varying Stylus out there is diverse and divided. The one I'm most interested in is the Adonit Jot Touch bluetooth stylus with 2000+ levels of pressure. However it's $89.99, something I'm not sure I'm willing to pay for unless it's highly recommended. How do the discs hold up? Is the bluetooth connection solid (as in will it disconnect?) Hows the battery life? Basic construction?
So I wanted to share some of the uses for the iPad and the accessories I've come up with and would like some recommendations from the community about accessories they've found helpful.
Procreate ~$4.99~ An art app with virtually all of the painting capability of Photoshop. It includes features such as 4Kx4K canvas, Dropbox integration, free custom brush downloads, creation and editing, layers, and a lot more. Sketches skip the scanning phase go directly to photoshop/illustrator on a good size canvas.
Adonit Jot Pro ~$29.99~ Spring loaded, hard tip stylus with an aluminum chassis and magnetic attachment.
(I'm wondering about the Adonit Jot Touch, is it worth the $89.99 price tag?)
QuickOffice HD ~$19.99~ The app is simple but as far as I can tell powerful. It is able to edit and create .doc files and save them directly too the iPad or to several services like Dropbox and Evernote. The app is also capable of creating and editing Excel and Powerpoint files for presentations. However, it has not had any update support in along time.
Zagg Profolio+ ~$129.99~ 7 color Backlight, full sized keyboard with magnetic closure and bluetooth connectivity. Battery lasts under regular use with backlight about 1 month. The outside of the folio is covered in durable leather finish, foam material which grips to some smooth surfaces.

As with most any art, it's best to start with a sketch. So I've purchased:

For writing essays or general typing I picked up a other items as well.
