I know as of now, there is no iPhone 4 tethering to iPad. I heard rumors that it would be included with iOS 4.2. Is that still the case? Currently, I have a MBA, iMac, and iPhone. I am thinking of getting an iPad, but can't decide between wifi and wifi +3G model. I think wifi only would be sufficient. Would I get enough use to justify getting an ipad with everything else I have?

Tethering is just a Jail Break away. ;) MyWi runs great on both the iPhone and the iPad and does a great job in tethering the two devices.

Exactly what Kevin says. I have a jailbroken 3GS and a wifi only 32 gig iPad. I figured I could either get a 16 gig 3G or a 32 gig wifi and since the iPhone was jailbroke I figured it would only be smart to go the way I went.

I tether my IPad 3G off of my IP4. The IP4 is Jailbroken and I also use MiWi. It does work great.
The reason I got the 3G was two fold.

1 if I decide later l can get a 3G service for the iPad.

2 I really wanted to have accurate GPS. I use it while flying and sometimes driving. The GPS is most important to me l for that reason.

What device were you trying to run MyWi on? An iPhone? Did you jailbreak it first? Purchase the MyWi app through Cydia? What happened when you tried to run it?

AT&T will let you tether your iPhone's 3G... but they want to charge you $30 a month and you have to down grade to the 2gb plan... Just Saying...
