I am wanting to get the 3g iPad using ATT as my provider. My question is when I want to download an app to put into the ipad the download goes thru iTunes, am I correct so far? How do I get that downloaded app from iTunes into the iPad? I"ve opened an account with iTunes in anticipation of getting the pad. I have an iMac, but I don't have wifi, DSL or Cable internet (not available). I use a sprint mobile broadband USB aircard to connect to the internet. Would I have a problem transferring what I download from the apps store on my iMac to put into the iPad? How would it work for me or do I just have to forget about getting an iPad? ATT service is available to get online with the iPad, but the question is what about any apps I want to download to put on it? In other words is the iPad a stand alone gadget that I wouldn't need to wirelessly transfer apps from iMac to iPad. Is there another way to do it? I hope I explained myself adequately, it's not easy to describe my situation. I really would like to get the pad if it would work for me.
    Thanks for a reply

I may be misunderstanding you... but you can just sync the apps from iTunes on your computer over to the iPad.

Otherwise you can just download apps directly on your iPad through the App Store on the iPad.

    Am I just confused?

All you need is iTunes installed on your computer and the iPad cable plugged into a USB port. iTunes will take care of the rest. It's really easy for you. :)

If you have ever synced anything to iTunes like any iPod it is basically the same process. You pick what stuff goes from your iTunes onto the iPad, sync it and done! :) All the apps are aquired through the App store (on iTunes on the iPad or iTunes on your computer).

Okay, thanks for the responses. I think the answer I was looking for came from
lelisa13p and for the other responders my question would be how do I sync from iTunes to the iPad because I can not do it wirelessly. I presume that you mean connect both machines with cords? What pondie84 said would sound like a good option for me also. Thanks everyone for responding. I'm feeling more confident now about getting the iPad 3g at the Apple store.

No one can sync an iWhatever(iPod, iPhone, iPad) to a computer wirelessly. It always uses a USB to iWhatever cable. You just plug it in, tell iTunes to sync stuff to the device, and off it goes. The same connection can usually charge the device, though apparently it's been a bit iffy with the draw on the iPad.

Alkiera, thanks for that post also and it helps me better understand how the whole sync thing comes together. :)
