Tried it and it couldn't find my printer. I'll check to see if perhaps there is a newer version of firmware out that I need - worth a shot.

Just to add. My Brother HL-1440 also was not discoverable by Brother's new Print and Scan app, after trying. The problem is that many of these older Brother printers don't have wifi connectivity as a feature. This is why Print 'N Share also won't work for them.

For these non-wifi printers, Airprint Activator is a good solution as it uses the computer and router to talk to the printer as an intermediary.

But thanks for the idea to try it out.

I use Fingerprint with a Brother laser printer. It is easy and works great!

Using this on Windows 7 64bit with an Epson RX585 all in one and a Samsung CLP-325W Colour Laser.

I used Air Print Activator in a while ago, used to work but stopped working for some reason, Fingerprint works flawlessly everytime.

V2.1b7 works perfectly with iPad 3 and IOS5. Give it a try. Here's the link:

Sorry to bump this thread again.

Tried the link you provided and I keep getting this error message:

AirPrint was activated through Activator V1. Make sure to turn if OFF using AirPrint Activator V1 before using AirPrint Activator V2... 10.6.8

Once Airprint wasn't working, I uninstalled it. I have no other versions on my iMac. When I go to click on AA, I don't get the option to toggle AA on/off. I only get the error message.

Like others said Printopia is one of the best solutions. Almost any printer will work. Worth every penny.

+1 for Printopia, has worked flawlessly for me, using a Canon MX700 printer. I also used to use AirPrint Activator but as someone else mentioned, after an OS X update, it just stopped working for me. Tried uninstalling/re-installing, etc, no luck so went with Printopia.
