Hi all,

fresh user of an old 11" iPad Pro 2nd version, got a new pencil as the old one pairs with the iPad but battery is dead, it is stuck on 0%, I would like to find a notes app which supports calculus/math symbology, possibly a free app as I won't make great use of it nor I need any special function, any suggestion?

Grazie

I am a big user of e-ink notebooks, but when the iPad Mini came out I tried to use that for the same purpose (I have the Magic Keyboard Folio on my 11" iPad Pro) ... GoodNotes was what worked best for me as it provides a focused and stylus-centric experience.

Freeform is available for iPadOS 16.2 (or later):

On iPadOS 18 and newer:

I use Penbook on my iPad. I got it lifetime for free when the creator had some celebration thing on reddit a while back. I've been very happy with it, but it doesn't beat Notability. If you want something cheaper it's one of the better choices in my opinion.

Notability is very polished and comfortable to use so it might be worth the lifetime purchase(if it still has one).
