I am considering getting a new iPad Pro and I always protect new purchases with AppleCare+. I see now they offer two options the normal pay in advance 2 year coverage and a monthly option. The monthly option is more expensive when you compare the price for 2 years with the 2 year pre-pay as expected. When I read the terms and conditions it appears the monthly pay option an continue past the 2 year period as long as you still make payments. In the past AppleCare+ was never offered past 2 years.

Does anyone know if I buy the 2 year plan up front if at the end of that 2 year period I'll be offered the opportunity to convert to a monthly plan to cover the device beyond 2 years or will my coverage just stop at the end of 2 years and I would have to be on the monthly more expensive plan to have the ability to go past the 2 years?

I'm inclined to say Apple will offer to convert me to a monthly plan since it's more money coming into them, but I'd like to hear anyone's experience with this personally.

Thanks appreciate the help.

Yes, if you buy the single-pay plan, you'll be offered the option to convert at the end of that two-year term to a monthly plan to extend the coverage.

Here's the Apple Support article that explains it:

Be careful that your initial purchase of AC+, along with the extended purchase option, doesn’t exceed the actual cost of the iPad Pro and any Apple branded accessories for the iPad.

I think the initial AC+ coverage purchase for the iPad Pro is a wise choice. I did the same even though I can easily self-insure.

Thank you - I was hoping that would be the case as I'd rather save a bit on the initial purchase.

Good point! I will take that into consideration as well. Appreciate it!
