Do we really need another "look what I can afford" type thread in disguise? I bought my wife a brand new car last year - I didn't go posting that all over the Audi forums.

Well, you just posted online, and in the wrong forum! - :D

This post was actually really useful for me as I was considering buying my gf an iPad for vday and decided was starting to doubt myself (doubt whether she'll like it/use it often) but decided just now that it is actually a great idea and am excited again to give it to her. Thanks OP!

Pre-install the Victoria Secret App and other online shopping Apps, and she'll be thrilled.

This is a perfect example of being a hypocrite. Congratulations!

Glad my post was bale to help someone out!

I think it's a hit-or-miss type of gift. Some people have no need for it, and don't use it at all when they get it as a gift. Others use it nonstop and love the thing to death. I guess I'm the first type, and I still feel bad about it.

I got bought an iPad for my wife for Christmas and she nearly pee'd her pants from excitement and shock. Prior to Christmas she was oogling iPads and dropping non-too subtle hints, but given the price she never expected it.

Hey... where did my posts go. How rude

They were incredibly relevant when you consider the eternal struggle against the evil of Gryzor!

Lovely present by the way... (Now they can't delete me)

Gryzor talk to me bro

I agree with the statement that ipads as presents can be a hit or miss affair. I also bought my gf an iPad last year for her b'day present, pretty much so that I could get one too! Matching iPads awww lol

However unfortunately she didn't enjoy it as much as I expected her to, and as such doesn't use it as much as I do. Could be because she also got an iphone 4 around the same time and used that more often as it is more portable.

So when the new MacBook airs were released I got her one of them instead and she absolutely loves it! I guess iPads are really only suited to some ppl and not to all. Some ppl find iPhone4/mb combo more useful, and not everybody can find a use for the niche iPad. I love mine, and find it a perfect fit in conjunction with my own iPhone4/mbp combo

funky can you also list your cars, net worth and house size for Gryzor's benefit please... we need to fuel his fire

P.S - if your wife doesnt like the ipad i'll take. I have some nice books that I got for Christmas that I could swap. Good trade - I promise!!!

I really really depends on what you use you computer for.

I also know a lady who was bought an iPad for Christmas by her husband and she's also only very mildly interested in it.

She has her iPhone for her contacts and what she uses her computer for, almost all day cannot run on the iPad, and probably will never run on the iPad as it's just not a suitable device for her software.

So it's mostly unused.

My post got taken off to!

Is this better? Great present!!!!

Gryzor had my post taken away because its true he uses his moms windows 98 computer. sorry dude....truth hurts.

In context, you are so wrong.

I had it taken off eh? Got any proof of that, cos' for me you can say what you like, makes no odds. All you do is further show how immature you really are. As for the computer I'm using, I actually do have Windows 98 on there, and 3.1, 95, ME, and XP, as well as the Server editions. Kinda' need those virtual machines for software development.

You go girlfriend.

Grumpy Gryzor strikes again.

You never stated whether you speak the local language when you visit other countries?... assuming you leave the house that is?!
