I’d like to know that too. But, if not, my Luna Display is working great!

I haven’t tried it but the feature is probably called Sidecar for a reason.
My guess is no.

I don’t think so.

I don't think so, as there is no way for the iPad to request that it receive a screen from a remote machine - it's initiated from macOS.

I have been interested in this as well, but from everything I have read - no, it does not seem that this is possible. At least currently.

I'm hoping you can still VNC to your mini and initiate the Sidecar connection that way. That'd work for me. Even better if it's possible to assign a keyboard shortcut / macro to Sidecar. Wake up the mini with a keyboard (blind-type password if necessary), press shortcut and you're good to go.

If it’s initiated through Mac OS is there a way to create a script to start it up on boot.

You could make something work to do this I would think. Havent tried it but there you can start:

I guess it will be in the same menu as other Airplay devices, run an applescript how you like (maybe with a delay after login) and let it connect
