Sprint EVO 4G and iPad Demo
I live in DFW area and typically get 2-3 Mbps connections. That last page on the iPad was wayyyy too slow, never seen it that slow here.
Looks great but the 4G network is only deployed in limited areas.
I'm in SF, CA and the iPad 3G speed in the video doesn't look all that unusual for this city. In fact its pretty typical in a lot of areas around here, unfortunately.
For the life of me, I just don't get the love affair between Apple and ATT - unless it's purely contractual. I can't think of two other companies whose basic DNA is so far apart.
Yep, here in SF, right in the cradle of Silicon Valley, and we're stuck with bottom feeders ATT and Comcast for connectivity. The only time these two make the top of anyone's list is when the list is for the worst regarded companies in the world.
A running list of cities that have Sprint's 4G WiMax service (which the Evo 4G can use in addition to 3G EV-DO).
Charlotte, North Carolina
Corpus Christi, Texas
Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas
Greensboro, North Carolina
Las Vegas, Nevada
Raleigh, North Carolina
San Antonio, Texas
Wichita Falls, Texas
Scheduled to get WiMax
Grand Rapids, Michigan
Kansas City, Kansas
Kansas City, Missouri
Los Angeles, California
New York, New York
St. Louis, Missouri
Salt Lake City, Utah
San Francisco, California
That's weird I can guarantee that Washington dc already has 4g as well as the whole dc va md metro area, I use it daily getting as high up to 8mb download speed.
Does anyone know the URL of the Sprint site they were loading with that iPad?
I can't believe it would be that slow. I want to verify.
