I am going on a vacation overseas, and will not be taking my iPad with me, for security reasons.
I'm going to turn the iPad off when I leave. I don't want to leave it plugged into a power source, even an UPS. I live in an area where storms and lightening are too common. I don't want my iPad getting toasted from a power surge.
However, if the battery does run dry, is there any risk to the iPad, will I lose apps or information if this happens?

Plus, it's all backed up on the computer you sync to anyway, up to the last time you synced. So even if something horrible happened to your iPad, even if you lose it, you can restore most of the data.
