Hi all.

Ive sent my iPad Pro 12.9” 2017 off to Apple for a battery replacement. I had an email last night to say they are replacing the device rather than replacing the battery.

Is this typical for iPads to be replaced entirely rather than the battery being replaced? I recall the iPads are much harder to get into than iPhones.

many thanks.

Great, that suits me nicely as mine had a few scratches on the back and a few dings around the edges and I presume I’ll get a pristine one back.

So they still have Air 2 refurbs??

I would say it's very likely. Just a quick google shows these are still available from other outlets. E.g. there's over 90 available from:

I'm not 100% sure about the air 2, but apple are known to sell older kit for longer in some parts of the world (e.g. India). This would mean there's still a supply chain in place for those models. However, as I said, not quite about the air 2 specifically.
