iPad Calendar: how get >1?

I consider myself fairly savvy, tech-wise, but I am going nuts trying to figure out how to get more than one calendar in the "Calendar" app included w/ my iPad. The very sketchy stuff in the "How to" manual refers to multiple calendars but I can only seem to generate one!😕

My multiple calendars were synced across by iTunes from iCal on my Mac. After a quick look around I too can't see anything obvious to create new calendars on the iPad directly.

Are you using Google calendars? if you are, there's a great guide here that explains how to connect to more than one calendar.

Thanks for the suggestion re: Google. I haven't been using Google calendars, but I may start! I have been using an antique Palm Tungsten E and there doesn't seem to be a way of syncing that directly, more's the pity.

Can't create calendars on iPad in the same way you can't create mail folders - have to do on iCal (and Mail) or Mobileme etc
