Anyone know if the USB dongle will recognize iFlip and import the movies onto the iPad?

Flip

I believe it will import but not play them. I have the Kodak Z18 and it does the same. I can import them but to play them I have to use handbreak which is free.

Then assume that after importing I can still dump it back onto my MacPro, were going away for a few weeks and I will be taking the iPad instead of the MBA. The iflip holds 60 min worth of video so I need to free it up a few times

If this worked I would definitely been buying a flip. Now I guess I will wait on something else. We also need an app for some basic video editing.

dont buy a flip. its a rip-off. i have a kodak playsport rugged and water resistant and it is better picture than flip for $149

take a look at the comparison on youtube

I've had this flip for a while so I'm not buying a new one, I'm happy with it, i'll post a review later this week in this thread of how it works, my camera kit will be here in a few days...

Flip

Once I put the Kodal Z18 video on the Ipad I synched it to my Mac, put it in Itunes and went to advanced(on Itunes menu) and converted it to Ipod/Iphone video, synched the Ipad again and it was back on my Ipad and worked fine.

With the new iPhone rummored to be able to take 720P video, I will probably just wait for that.

Will you be able to zoom in? I still highly doubt that it will take decent video, also I don't need my phone to die in an hour

FWIW I have a Casio Exilim EX-S10 and videos from it transferred via the Camera Connector Kit do play immediately on the iPad - they are just 480P though. I'm in search of something a little higher res that does the same...
