No, not on their dock.

That's the big hub-bub right now for people
who bought the case and dock. You cannot dock
while the iPad sits in the case.

I think the Apple case is just fine. Very simple to use, I love the way it props the iPad up in landscape mode etc. No it's not super sturdy etc, but the only thing I want to protect my iPad from is scratches while holding it. I've never had a single scratch on any of my iPhones (iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS), and neither has my wife (same phones as me), so I'm not worried about display scratches. I just want some nice, simple, non-bulky protection, and the Apple case gives me that. I do think it's overpriced at $40, though.

I love the Apple case as well. I felt it was super thin, not bulky (compared to some iPhone cases I've owned) and I like the fact that it folds over the screen to give the screen some light protection. When holding it with the flap folded back, I feel like I have a good grip. When I hold the iPad naked, I'm always paranoid that it's going to slip and fall out of my fingers.

It's going to cost you a pretty penny, but the Vaja iPad case is pretty nice looking; rather similar to the iPhone cases. Also of note, Booq has a three-sided sleeve that will fit the iPad. I've used products from both companies and have been happy with the quality.

I wish I could get an Apple case for my new iPad...I bought my 16GB at Best Buy yesterday. The guy in front of me got the last case. Apple's site is now shipping "late April" and no stores around me have them.

I'm not an apple fanboy (check my posts) but I love the case.. It's very well designed-- as I just posted in the "its too heavy" thread, the triangle configuration is perfect for holding the thing-- you can grab rather than pinch it, using bigger muscles in your arm, making it much more comfortable to hold for long periods.. Plus it will sit on the desk in either portrait or landscape, and closes to a very small form factor.

I agree. The Apple case serves the function very well while maintaining a very thin profile for the iPad. It's seems like a much better alternative to all the other thick and bulky cases available by third party vendors.

Ordered the Apple Case and the Marware and will decide which I like better for my needs and taste. It looks like the Marware is going to fill more of those needs. Big part of what I want to do is to take it out of the case often/daily to use it naked, and use the case for transport protection, stand and typing platform. We'll see. Link to it below:

I like the apple case but may end up getting one of the mar ware cases too. Not sure if I'd get the vue or the flip though.

I went ahead and ordered the Marware Vue as well. I think the back hand strap will be very useful. I plan on swinging by an Apple store tomorrow and may pick up the Apple case for the mean time. If so, I'll take pics and do a comparison review.

Like the case a lot... Can't imagine using the iPad without the stand. As far as "sharp edges" — they're not sharp at all. They're just edges, and meant to add a bit of stiffness to protect the iPad in a fall.

Kinda wondering how the iPad would do if dropped in its case, though... I'm sure it's much better than naked iPad, but by how much?

I have the Apple case and I like it a lot. The stand is good for having the iPad stand in many directions. It makes gripping the iPad very easy and is thin.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it gets very dirty. It picks up any dust, dirt or crumbs and needs to be wiped down almost as frequently as I need to wipe the fingerprints off the iPad.

Typing in landscape as the iPad sits on a table is very easy as well.

That's good that people like it as I ordered it from Apple with a delivery date of the 20th. Then I find out that they are plentiful at all the Apple stores and even Best Buys .

Of course it's to late to cancel the order with Apple as it's 'prepared for shipping'.

Prepared for shipping?

As we know this can drag on :D

I originally was going for a larger portfolio out of leather. I ended up with the Apple case and I really like it. It's nice and thin which matches one of the reasons I bought the iPad. .One reason I picked up my iPad early was to make sure I got the cover, they had a ton in stock. Guess I could have slept in yesterday. I will be returning my dock tomorrow. No need with the case, plus it doesn't work with the cover.

Does anybody know of a good silicone (or similar) case that only covers the back? I want something with more "grip" than the naked iPad but not much else.
