Does this combination make having a larger sized storage iPad obsolete as long as you have access to Wifi ?

I remember the Verizon CEO said phones were going to get cheaper by doing everything in the cloud. Not the exact same concept but similar.

depends how fast your fiber is. If you got 1gps it probably is ok with a low storage size I get 100mbs downloads speeds and even with that fast speed it still takes a while to download some things like for example I got a Samsung t5 ssd to store movies on it and downloading the movies to iTunes to copy to the t5 took a long time

Do you plan to travel with the iPad? If so, access to WiFi can be very dicey - why I never count on cloud storage when on the road.

To have the best of both world at home and while I travel my iPhone is on the minimum storage capacity and iPad is 128GB.

At home & out and about there’s no problems with internet and even if I’m travelling within the country the coverage is pretty fine almost always for me. So I can pretty much stream anything. While travelling my phone will need to be somehow connected to the internet so either way I’ll figure something out, like an international data pack or a local SIM card.

My WiFi only iPad becomes entertainment hub mostly while travelling where I’d have downloaded the things I need / want during my trip. Some movies / songs etc. And if I want to use the iPad for work then it’s a simple matter of connecting to the hotspot on my phone.
