iPad Demand Surges as Apple Strengthens Grip on Tablet Market

What games are you playing? Controller based games are pretty much always better played on other (and usually cheaper) platforms.

The tandem oled is probably the best screen on the market. The games I play on m4 iPad Pro:

It is, except the aspect ratio isn't great for gaming. Just look at Red Dead Redemption for a classic case of what ends up happening. They take the 16:9 image from how the game runs everywhere else, and just zoom and crop to fit the iPad screen. You end up seeing less and get a more claustrophobic viewpoint for most games.

Then you have the sad fact that even with that screen, most good games simply aren't on iPad in the first place.

And the ones that are, are often very compromised. Again look at Red Dead - the game is a blurry mess on iPad because the dev set the resolution target for the lowest common denominator iPad and you have no way to change it. And while they use DLSS on Switch 2 to output a clean, crisp image, they don't bother using MetalFX on iPad to do the same.

The iPad is a fine product, but a good gaming device it ain't. Most games aren't on there, and of the ones that are, you're going to get a better experience on pretty much any other gaming device. Often for half the price too.

"Effortless" really depends on what you're doing. If you're doing simple stuff then yeah the ease of use and lack of friction is great, but as soon as you try to do anything involved it can all become far more difficult than a Mac.

The ipad is another device to have (if you want it) that fulfills a need. That need will be different from person to person. Also the definition of "simple" stuff is different from person to person. ipados It's not a general purpose operating system. It's a somewhat gimped multi-tasking operating system operating in a closed ecosystem. But it seems enough people have found utility in ipads for reasons of their own.

That said it won't replace my windows desktop anytime soon. And my windows desktop isn't as good as my ipad for various things either.

Samsung's tablets are quite good, especially the Ultra lineup.

Unfortunately their rendition of the Android OS completely shoves it down hill into the drain. Samsung can make good chips, but they have proved for decades that they have no talent for software development. This even includes the OSD's on dumb TV's.

Have to agree unfortunately. Software is Samsung's weak point IMO.
