Having spent the last few days reflecting on the launch, it strikes me that the iPad is actually the first real foray into a genuine digital living room.

If Apple produce a wall mounting for the iPad (something that having young children i'd love), and combined with the ability to wifi to other units throughout the house then you finally get the type of media hub I personally am crying our for.

along with the work on displays that Apple are doing, I now believe the next significant product launch will be an Apple hybrid of mac and tv.

Imagine being able to have a 40 inch apple tv, with an OS somehow wired in. you could download content from the istores and sync it up to cable / satellite tv. Stick a decent moveable web cam in as well and the tv of yesterday has gone and is replaced by a full multimedia and gaming platform for the living room.

so for me the iPad is the first stage in the evolution of digital living room, but what do I know.

No offense but a wall mount makes no sense. You'll have to stand there by the wall to use it?

I have kids and I see no advantage of putting an iPad on the wall. My 4 year olds do pretty well with my iphone, so I'm not really worried about an ipad.

really, I can see it working brilliantly with a wall mounting. In this size for music, but if the screen size increase in line with display developments then it would be a move towards having a combined tv, stereo and gaming platform.

As for kids, mine are both under 3 and I fear for my macbook and iphone regularly!:)
