Hello everyone! My ipad wont work without its charger, so its virtually useless. When i plug in the charger, it shows a red button, the apple logo and then the home screen with a battery charge of 60-80%. But after a few minutes it shuts off itself and restarts with the red battery and so on... Is there any solution in this? It wont work without the charger. Thank you in advance!

Maybe try a full restore just for kicks, but sounds like a hardware fault. Warranty swap/repair if under warranty, out-of-warranty swap if not. Either way I predict a Genius Bar appointment in your near future.

What do you mean hardware fault? The battery itself? Well i cant restore because it always restarts itself. Thanks for replying.

Take it to Apple. if it's under warranty, they'll fix or replace it. If it's just the battery, you may have to pay the battery replacement fee.

Anyway, bring it and tell them your battery doesn't seem to be charging anymore.

No, tell them what it IS doing. If you say the battery isn't charging anymore they will test the battery. And if it passes they won't swap it per company rules.

If it boots up fully on the charger get as much of your stuff as you can backed up so you don't lose anything and then go to Apple and tell them exactly what you said to us. Let them test for what is going on. Not some random possibly false cause. Just be warned, just as they can't swap if the battery passes if you are OOW you will have to pay the full OOW cost if the hardware is bad. They can only charge you the lower battery replacement cost if the battery fails. So best to go in expecting something to the tune of $299 and be happy if it's less. Course for that much it might make more sense just to buy a new one
