I read it first many years ago so I bought another copy to read again. An early telepathic/super human story from 1940. Van Vogt wrote several really good stories - The World of Null-A, The Weapon Makers, Voyage of the Space Beagle etc. This last one contains a prototype "Alien" story about an entity that gestates its' embryos in human stomachs !
