Apologies if this has been posted, but can anyone confirm that this is real? I mean I don't see how he could have faked it...

Hmm the table looks suspiciously similar to the ones that they had at the hands on demo at the keynote.

Hmm. That does indeed appear to be a real iPad.

Ordinarily I'd guess that the son of someone at Apple or a close partner/supplier was going to be grounded after posting that video. However, the come on for that 'free' iPad website makes me wonder...

LOL. This is nothing more than a video from the keynotes "hands on" session after it was over. This is simply some kid that has done a voice over. That exact video is from Gizmodo or Engadget? I've seen the original video so not to tough to spot it's a fake. Pretty funny actually!

Well the first thing I questioned was why was their no sound at all? and the fact the hands are both... right hands? this kid have 4 hands? :D Sure it could be a friends, but I knew at that point I'd already seen this on a tech blog.

Look at the 18 to 20 second mark... two different right hands :)

2mins on Engadget = Video, fast forward to about the 5 min mark... Youtube video and so on. :)

Looking at the original he starts using the video around the 5:15/5:20 mark and goes from there. Same smudged to heck iPad, same table, same camera reflection.

Interesting. The kid does a pretty good job of acting like he's the one controlling it. Though now that you mention it he does start to run out of things to say toward the end since they are staying on the pictures for so long.

Good eye. Now when i watch it the two right hands thing is very obvious. When you watch it quickly the first time without paying close attention that can slide past you quickly.

Hey -- at least prank YouTubes don't ring my phone at 3 in the morning. I remember having a whistle by the phone when one kid decided over a period of a week it would be awesome to continue to call the house and just hang on the line without saying anything.

ONE blow with the whistle ended those calls forever. Hopefully I blew out an eardrum.

lol ya, I actually watch the entire video, even after I was sure I had seen it before. He did a good job and I'm sure plenty of people believe it's a legit deal. :)

Looks like it is more than just fake. Looks like a scam, trying to suck people into the "get a free ipad" page.

You beat me to it. I don't spend much time on youtube; are those all shill posts, or just really stupid people? Maybe kids, I guess.

I like the 14-minute hands-on video that's floating around (gizmodo or engadget or something). They ask a lot of good questions and the Apple rep gets a little flustered, but you can really see the thing in action.

I'm not sure, probably shills. I think I clicked on one and it was the only thing they had posted on or made a favorite.

For a fun read you can look at the terms and conditions and see what they want to you to do, and all the ways they have to get out of giving you the free iPad.

I remember the 'free iPod' stuff from a long time ago--from what I remember you had to sign up for a ton of stuff, some free some not, hand over your credit card information, and recruit x number of people to do the same crap. And then you still most likely never received one.

The sad thing is 90% of the people that watch the video will think it is real. kid should be sued for getting people to sign up for that spam site.

Funny... I didn't even notice the attempt at scam until the discussion in this thread. I simply went to YouTube to see if any reviewers had happened to have received theirs and did an unboxing (off chance, but worth a shot every now and then).

I clicked on several that were obvious jokes right off the bat, and then clicked on this one that seemed to be out of the box impressions done fairly well until you notice the two right hands. I wasn't even looking to see that the guy was trying to get people to sign up for a "free" ipad.
