iPad has given my gaming a bit of a rennaisanse.

I only play on my iPhone when I'm out and about and the only thing I play only pc anymore is Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers - and as that's coming to the iPad later this year I won't even need that.

Oh, never !

The Ipad is a very nice device except gaming. I have tried playing Marvel Vs Capcom 2 and the control is awful. The only quality games are Plants vs Zombie, Chaos Rings II, Infinite Blade (but it lacks a story......), SF4, etc.....

Army vs Zombie looks pretty interesting. However, it needs more quality games like Chaos Rings II. I don't mind paying $20 or even $30 for a game as long as it is good and offers long play time. (A 10 hours play time PS3 game already costs $60, that is just absurd. )

I really wish the developers release games with deeper game play and story like Final Fantasy 7, 8, 9

If you like JRPG or any RPG, I highly recommend Chaos Rings II.
I also like the new Army vs Zombie, it is like stick wars with better graphics.

Did you get Chaos Ring II ?? I so wanted it..but I'm wondering if it's worth 15 bucks..

It's definitely taken over all my handheld gaming. I sold my DS and I have no interest in purchasing a 3DS or Vita.

But I'll never give up my Xbox 360. I love my battlefield 3, Forza 4, and Skyrim way too much.

If you enjoyed Chaos rings 1 then it'll be worth the purchase to you. It's more of the same and better.

Like the poster before me said it has taken over my handheld gaming, however I love steam to much to give up desktop gaming altogether.

Not really.

iOS gaming in general isn't very good in my opinion, due to the control scheme.

I do play games on my iPad and iPhone, such as Peggle, GTA Chinatown Wars, Where's my water and a few others, but anyone that takes gaming seriously will use a PC, Xbox 360 or PS3. The gaming experience on those machines are clearly better than anything iOS is capable of.

If you were talking about this from a purely mobile gaming perspective or a purely casual perspective, then it'd be different.

Yup.

I can't stand to sit at my computer at home anymore. I check news feeds and hit the game of the moment.

With AppShopper feeds/notifications, I have picked up more than I can play LOL.

Addicted to acheivement whoring against friends and fam.

Yep! I'm not saying the iPad is better than a gaming PC, because it's not. But I find myself quite satisfied with playing games like MC3 and O&C on the iPad. This will soon change with the release of Diablo 3 and GW2. At this point there is no substitute for "real gaming" on a decked out PC. But the iPad 3 is certainly a great gaming device.

Same here. I don't even play games on the iPhone anymore. Screen's too small (I remember back n 2007 how big and amazing it was).

I only play iOS games on iPad for the most part but to be honest they never hold my attention very long.

I would rather play a game on Xbox or PC... I do have a ton of games on my iPad though.

I liked Chaos rings so much and I've read that the story and features are much better in Chaos ring 2...I think I'll wait for some promo in Appshopper..IF I can resist! :D

I don't blame you. Square games aren't exactly the cheapest on the app store. But if you are very patient you could find a sale on the game if you wait long enough.

I'll be a good girl and wait...and in the meantime I'll try to distract myself by downloading some other cheaper but tricky games ;)
I hope I won't have to wait so long that while I'm getting Chaos Ring II on sale the developer is launching Chaos Ring III :D
ahahah

I barely use my PS3 Slim anymore. Plays sometimes Mass Effect 2, but that's it. It takes ages to start the console while my iPad 2 is running 24/7. Funny, cause many of the games in AppStore aren't that advanced as for PS3 and Xbox 360 (except Infinity Blade).

But I like those simple games for iPad more than those advanced for PS3. :) I don't play at my Dell N5010 any games either, even if I have Empire Total War and Napoleon Total War installed (I'm strategist u see). I also hope that Nintendo will bring many of their titles to iPad, as they maybe will one day. Then I think iPad will be even more serious than ANY console. FPS works awesome, strategy-games works awesome, sports-games works awesome, and platform-games works awesome imo.

The ipad is great for when your bored not played a arcade game on the xbox for ages but as far a proper gaming goes it still isnt there yet.

I have PS3 that I hardly even touch. But I'm kind of disappoint that Apple can't pop with games like infinity blade. IPad 2 and up has great potential in graphics, CPU etc. It becomes such a waste not to have more advanced games.

Have I missed an option to keep game saves in sync between the devices? If I'm playing Angry Birds on the iPhone, can we make it so the iPad knows I completed that level when I get home? And if not, we should make it an option to do game only backups to iCloud in the next iOS update.

That is already there but it depends on the developer to use it. Most don't and even if they do it doesn't generally work if they have separate iphone and ipad apps.

No, I hate playing games on touchscreen devices. I'll stick to my computer and Xbox for playing real games.

I don't mind it, if the game was designed with touch in mind. Some really don't feel like they were so it's odd. And they don't use the SDK controller mode so I can use my iphone or old ipod touch as a controller and my ipad as a screen. And worse most of them dont support any of the bluetooth 'old school' style controllers.

One that I've tried to play that really should support controllers and doesn't is the Lost Winds games. I finally had to give up because it was just too frustrating.

Get those things in line, add icloud game status syncing etc and things would be better. These are all things I'm looking at for a game I'm working on just to give folks a little variety.

When Battlefield comes to ipad, we can discuss it! :D

I was thinking more Qbert, Donkey Kong and the original Mario Bros/Super Mario Trilogy. Those are the ones that have made me keep my consoles around. I've tried them via emulators but it's a lousy game play. lagging, not made really for touch etc.

Port the classic versions (no updating with flashy 3d etc) to iOS and I'll be in heaven. Even though I"m sure I'll be out like $9.99 a game. If they are bug free, icloud saves, controller compat etc. it would be worth it. Im sure if someone hasn't made a bluetooth version of the classic Nintendo controller it would happen very very quickly (smarter if Nintendo did it of course)
