No comparison. Even the base model Wacom pad beats the Intuos / iPad combination. The Wacom pad wins every time.

If you're looking for extreme portability / on the fly use; then yes, the intuos pen is your friend. Otherwise, you may be better off with an MBA 11" and a small Wacom pad.

Actually portability is handy but if I use the actual machine on the site, clients will attempt to make changes there so I've learned its best to do the real work in the studio or home office and use the tablet as a preview device for clients to see if meeting in person. That prevents them from manipulating the creative into making changes on the spot without the alteration fees they like to get away with.

Something to think about. However I love the Cintiq portable device and think its handy for "on the go" conceptual work and flesh it out at the studio. I mean would you be doing secret projects on an NDA at a coffeeshop with the tablet? But MBA with a standard tablet hooked to it is an idea and even though I've an iMac already. My PowerBook g4 titanium is way outdated for this work now :/.

But if I take my Wacom tablet for the MBA then that's not a bad idea. I would have to copy and install apps on it and both machines would have the same files.

One reason I use Dropbox with my 1g iPad to store my conceptual art via sketchbook pro or procreate.

Highly recommend this app for all Tablet users who also use Wacom tablets. This is like a Wacom Cintiq, little smaller obviously, but totally portable and wireless. Draw a doodle on Procreate, export to PC/Mac and Illustrator or PS and go. Best 4.99 I've ever spent on a an app.

I use the Pogo Connect as my stylus but it's just too badly built to be recommended to anyone. I'm switching over to Wacom's Intuos iPad stylus as soon as I get the chance. I've never liked the plastic disc on the Jot Touches and have heard from a lot of people that they couldn't stand the clicking of the disc against the screen. But if that's not a problem, I've also heard it's quite reliable.
Thanks for the recommendation - i haven't tried Sketch Club yet. Im all for trying new stuff. Line smoothing might be a brush option? Not sure - i guess it suits some peoples style more than others, i usually have stroke smoothing enabled in photoshop too. I find it weird how sketchbook pro is quite streamlined and sensible in it's desktop form but on tablets is a total mess. :/ artrage is good but again - slow.

As for the clicking of disc on the screen.. I literally never once noticed a noise. That's pretty strange. You mean the noise of the plastic disc hitting the glass? Is there one? It's quieter than most felt pens and brushes, surely? That sounds like people being very picky!

Here's why

Good that they're offering a larger canvas, but why specifically 4K? It's an illustration app and 4K is a video standard. Just seems like a way to integrate a buzzword.

Might have been a better idea to choose a resolution that's a multiple of the iPad's screen resolution in order to maintain fidelity when you're looking at your illustration in full-screen.

You'll see why next year when the iPad Pro comes out!

An absolutely amazing app that deserves far more attention than it gets. Hands down the best drawing / painting / sketching app on any mobile platform. It's amazing what can be done with it. I'm glad to see that version 2 is a sensible enhancement on the previous version and not a feature breaking redesign.

I can see why people would want to Procreate with the women in the pictures.

No, seriously, what an odd name.

It enables you to give birth to a work of art.

In addition to that. 'Professional Creation' = 'Procreate.'
It's quite obvious.

Agreed, but it's already a word that people associate with sex. I like combo names as much as the next guy, but not when they form preexisting words that don't have much to do with the app.
