Similar to other responses for my family. We frequently watch content as individuals and as such we use our mobile devices. When sharing in a movie, the news or a particular show/event we use one of our TV's. Having streaming boxes on them makes switching from mobile to larger screens easy.

lol no
Well maybe in my home office on my iPad while working.
But my 77" LG Oled and Sonos surround sound system get's used for sport and Netflix etc.

Obviously, a TV is much better when watching with multiple people. But even when alone, I much prefer watching on a nice large OLED TV at a very comfortable focal distance with a nice immersive speaker setup while sitting on my comfy couch, unhindered with holding or propping up a display relatively close to my face. I do watch plenty of content on my other devices, but only because of necessity/convenience when I'm not able to be in front of my TV. Anything cinematic that I care about though I will save for watching on my TV (preferably at night to simulate the movie theater experience). You can never beat or fully replace a dedicated immersive experience with one that has to fulfill other functions such as being mobile. The only exception might be the Vision Pro because of what it uniquely offers, but it has obvious trade offs of its own.

But of course, a nice iPad display is probably better than a mediocre TV, so it really does depend on your setup. But in ideal situations, the TV is more ideal in my opinion.

I have a TV in the living room but I stay in my bedroom 99% of the time when I’m home, so I watch all of my video content on my MacBook Pro or iPad Mini.

I am in mid 50s, I have a 55" 4k tv in the living room that I rarely watch, I use my desktop w/32" monitor the vast majority of the time for entertainment. I sort of wish I had a 40"ish tv in the bedroom to watch things before falling asleep. I just can't sit in front of the tv in the living room anymore, the only reason I keep it is for social reasons when people come over (NFL season). I live inside of youtube and rarely watch local tv or movies.

I mostly use my big screen tv to watch my shows/videos on now. However in the past I used my iPad with my earbuds almost exclusively. The combo made me feel like I was in my own little world while watching. Weird I know but I quite enjoy the solitude of it.
