From the look of those pictures the iPad might have 2 speakers.

Great catch although I would have seen it on engadget myself soon.
what I find interesting is the space at the top and what looks like two connectors. I would have to believe the 3g card goes in there.

I had no idea they were trying to Bose the internals of the iPad. It's so cool to see how the sound winds around the inside of the iPad.

doesn't it have the same amount of RAM as the iPhone does? the ram is on the chipset itself and is either 128 or 256 megs.

I was hoping for atleast 512MB of RAM. 3GS has 256MB. With a bigger device and high speed CPU I'd hope they bump the RAM a little.

They should have decent sound to go with the larger screen. One review said don't expect too much bass from them. I actually use EQ to reduce bass on my iPhone.

I don't know where anyone said it would be a mono speaker but it is defintely two speakers... just the placement of them (side by side so close together) the human ear will be unable to hear a difference between the two channels.

I read a review where it said they got pretty loud.

It's a 1gb chip that has been covered.

source for this? We know it is a 1GHZ chip but I'm not so sure about 1GB ram - seems like a lot, have you confused them?
