I've been reading conflicting info on this, so I thought I'd ask on here...

I plan to buy the new iPad at some point in the future, for a number of reasons, but one of them being to use iMovie to edit videos/photos taken on both the iPad itself, but also those taken on my iPhone 4. Would it work with things shot on the iPhone?

I guess photos will be automatically transferred from iphone to ipad with photostream, but I assume videos won't be?? So if I was to use one of the file transfer apps available, would iMovie on iPad see it? I've read reports of it only seeing videos actually taken on the iPad?? I'm hoping this isn't the case! I would expect it to work with any videos/pics from any iOS device??

(if there's a better way to transfer videos, I'm all ears!)

If I can indeed do what I'd like above, would I then be able to get the end product onto a DVD somehow??

Any advice would be very much appreciated,
    Thanks

Yes, it would work with things shot on the iPhone. All iOS devices respond to iCloud, and they sync to all the devices connected to it. Go ahead and buy an iPad, everything will be compatible.

Your videos won't sync via iCloud. From what I’ve read, the best way to transfer video to the iPad from the iPhone is with the camera connection kit. You can also import video onto the iPad from other video cameras using this kit. Again, I haven’ tried it, but I read it somewhere on the forum.

    Thanks!

I plan to buy a file transfer app to get the videos taken using the iPhone onto the iPad.
