Anybody with an iPhone X wish that they could drag from the bottom to go home on their iPad? Hitting the Home button has become awkward and not having Face ID makes it even worse.

I wonder if they’ll allow drag to go home in iOS 12 or if that’ll be exclusive to new iPads without a Home button.

The going “home” gesture works well enough on iPads. Just do a 4 finger pinch in the middle of the screen and you’re good. Same effect.

Agreed, swiping up from the bottom to activate the dock or app switcher/control centre, or pinching to close the app to the homescreen is gesture enough to avoid the home button if you really wanted to.

At some point, if you have acquired several Apple products, you will have those differences. I have an old iPod with the wheel thing. Each time I access it I have to remember that its not a touch screen and it doesn't have Siri. What I love about it is that I can store files on it and treat the iPod like an external drive.

I'm betting Apple will switch the gestures in the next year or so. Right now there is a problem with accessing some of the apps in Control Center on the lock screen. The apps aren't going away after using them. I'm betting Apple will give us the same gestures we have on MacBooks we see on the iOS devices. First up is the iPhone X and other iPhones in landscape mode...having the home dock move to the bottom. :)

I like having the home button. I hope that doesn't change and that it just stay (non existent) with iPhone X.
