I used to feel somewhat 'smart' and nerdy when I was able to jailbreak my first gen iphone which took about 10 steps, changing file extensions, downloading two independent files and a 3rd party program to make it all work. Now, from what started with blackra1n and now the spirit jailbreak, it's as easy as downloading a new app from the app store.

At this point, why not jailbreak your ipad? Even if you have zero use for anything in the cydia store, if nothing more you can at least be able to adjust your brightness level within a app or safari. Seriously, with it's simplicity, what does one really have to lose when a simple restore can return your iPad to out of box conditions anyway.

Overall, I'm just amazed at how simple a jailbreak has gotten nowadays.

Cheers once again to the jailbreak community :)

Even though it's easy, its still not for the complete idiot. You need to know how to recover the iPad in case it locks up and doesn't respond.

You are right though. As long as everything works the first time, its a breeze.
