iPad Keyboard entry delay

I've noticed lately a very pronounced delay when typing on the keypad. There are times when I am literally 3 or 4 words along before they appear on screen. This occurs most often on Facebook, but also in Pages and Safari searches, comments, etc.

I am on an iPad ver 1 with the latest iOS. System monitor tells me I have more than 50% of my memory unused. Internet connection doesn't seem to be an issue. Safari cache has been cleared. iPad has been rebooted.

Any ideas?

Have you tried closing all the apps on the multi-tasking bar?

If you've rebooted, etc. and you are still seeing the issue across all apps (i.e not just the Safari app), but any other apps that utilise text input, it's a good idea to use the set up as new option in iTunes.

Make sure you have everything backed-up first.
