iPad Pro iPad M2 12.9 problem with microphone on messenger and instagram

Hi all,
I have an iPad M2 12.9 inch and it was working good. Until the microphone suddenly stopped working on Messenger and Instagram video calls. The microphone itself works perfect, I have tried recording the screen with the microphone on and I can clearly hear my voice. But when video calling the microphone doesn't work. I have tried to change the settings, gave all permissions needed to both apps and still doesn't work. I have tried other devices and they work well on video calls. Any idea on how to solve this issue?

I use the same iPad. If this problem you mentioned occurred after installing iOS 17, you can wait for the applications to receive updates about this issue.

I think this is purely a software bug. If there was a hardware error, they wouldn't work at all.

I think the exact same. It happened though after doing some updates on iOS16, because I usually want to update to the latest stable release. There is also the problem when connecting to an external monitor and ipad speakers dont work and this also seems to be an issue for others.

I don't know what version of iPadOS you're currently using, but maybe trying version 16.7 or upgrading to iPad OS 17 might help.

I'm using 17.0.1

The problem is really interesting. I definitely think it's a software problem. If you want to try enter DFU mode and installing iPadOS 17.0.1 again. If that doesn't work, contact Apple Support.
